There's nothing a musician or composer enjoys more than having variety in their work, and during the past 25+ years that Peter Schwartz has been in the studio and on stage, he certainly never complained about having variety!
Only a few years after graduating from Manhattan School of Music with a degree in piano performance, Peter found his way into the NYC session scene as a keyboard player, pianist, synthesist, and arranger. In only a few short years, Peter would come to amass a dizzying number of album and remix credits working for A-list artists and Grammy-winning producers.
His session career was occasionally "interrupted" when such artists as David Bowie, Madonna, Enya, and The Pet Shop Boys called for Peter to be their musical director for promotional and world tours. In fact, David Bowie called Peter personally to ask him to be the musical director for his "Outside" Tour after hearing his work as musical director for Madonna's legendary performance on Saturday Night Live.
Peter has also enjoyed commissions for serious instrumental works and orchestral arrangements. Of note, legendary composer John Williams accepted -- without changes -- Peter's orchestral arrangement for Enya's performance of "May It Be" at the 2001 Oscars, nominated for Best Song in a Feature Film, "The Lord of the Rings".
Despite being well-established in his native New York City, Peter now resides in Los Angeles to pursue his true love -- film scoring -- a field in which Peter has been privileged to add DisneyToons, Mattel, Warner Bros., and the Gates Foundation to his list of clients. And when between film projects, Peter continues to compose music for select independent films and music libraries, write orchestrations, and create arrangements for select clients.
